Weekly Recap

With the past seven days behind us we take a look at the player and personnel moves from around the league.

Frölunda

For the past seven seasons Erik Thorell has been playing in various leagues around Europe. He played three seasons in Finland with TPS and HIFK, two seasons in Switzerland with NL and two seasons in the Czech Republic with HC Sparta Praha. He now returns to Sweden for the first time since 2016 to play for Frölunda.

– Erik is a fast-paced forward who has developed his offense over the past five, six years. A producing player with attack, says Frölunda's sporting director Fredrik Sjöström to the club's website.

The last time he was in Sweden he played in Hockey Allsvenkan for three seasons, however he does have experience in Swedens top league, playing with Färjestad between 2011 and 2013.

– Really fun and really fun that Frölunda showed interest. It went quickly and we had a good chat. Frölunda has an eye on me, says Erik Thorell.

His new contract is valid through next season.

With the new addition, it is now clear that Anthony Greco wil not be returning to the club. The 29 year old American scored 25 points, including 13 goals, in Frölunda last season. Greco has not signed with another team.
