Publicerad:

With the past seven days behind us we take a look back at action from both on and off the ice.
SHL Interest Up
There's no doubt that the SHL is Swedens top league and one of the top leagues in the world, however the league has made great strides to expand its popularity both in Sweden and abroad. Overall audience attendance rose by 5% last season, fans watching on TV rose by 18% and mentions in media of the SHL rose by 445%.
– We see that the interest in SHL continues to grow and we have our fantastic audience to thank for that! It is the audience that creates the incredible atmosphere and interest that exists around us and it is also because of them that we continue to increase in all interest measurements, says SHL's CEO Jenny Silfverstrand.
Pre Season
Warmup games for the coming regular season are well under way as all but two SHL teams have made their pre season debut. HV71 won three consecutive games on the island of Gotland to win a pre season tournament. The Växjö Lakers have traveled abroad and come away with a pair of wins against Red Bull Munich and the ZSC Lions. MoDo will kick off their pre season with a pair of games this week as they face off against Skellefteå on Wednesday and Björklöven on Friday. Leksand also kicks off their pre season this week with a pair of games. They will take on Färjestad at home on Thursday then hit the road for a game against Fölunda on Friday.

- We are extremely proud of our long collaboration with TV4, which stretches all the way back to 1997. Above all, we are proud of the fantastic production that TV4 contributes season after season and that all of us who love hockey get to take part in both ice hockey and TV world-class production, says Jenny Silfverstrand, CEO SHL.
